How to Protect the Patina of Your
Bronze Art. We apply a clear sealant to each piece we produce at
Timber Bronze® in order to protect its finish. Our
patina manufacturer recommends that you follow the steps listed below to preserve the finish
over time.
1. Lightly clean the surface of the item with a non-ionic soap (the patina
manufacturer suggests an Amway® product).
2. Dry completely.
3. Apply a canuba based wax with a soft brush (the patina manufacturer suggests
Tree Wax® , Professional Clear).
4. Lightly buff dry.
5. Repeat regularly, with the frequency depending on how much the item is used and
how much moisture it is exposed to.
We have also found that one of the best (and easiest) ways to keep your pine cones looking sharp is to clean them with a blast of compressed air. We've used both canned air (please take care not to spray it on your cabinet surface) and air from a small compressor. For best results, we recommend that you do this regularly before a significant amount of dust or other material has accumulated.
Finally, the patina on your Timber Bronze products can be redone. If, for some reason, you ever want us to do that, please call or e-mail and we'll work up an estimate for you.
